About Rob Gold

Short presentation

I've spent over 25 years working in construction, remodeling, home repairs, maintenance, and building inspections. I've owned and operated home service businesses, managed renovation projects, and helped homeowners solve just about every kind of problem a house can throw at them. One of the things I enjoy most is teaching people how things work and helping them gain the confidence to tackle projects themselves. Whether you're troubleshooting a problem, planning a repair, or just trying to figure out where to start, I'm happy to walk you through it. I'm practical, patient, and good at explaining things in everyday language. My goal is to help you understand the problem, avoid unnecessary expenses, and get the job done right—or recognize when it's time to bring in a professional.

What can we work on

I can help you troubleshoot, plan, and work through a wide variety of home repairs and improvement projects, including: - Plumbing problems, leaks, faucets, toilets, and drains - Electrical troubleshooting, switches, outlets, lighting, and ceiling fans - Appliance troubleshooting and basic repairs - Drywall repairs, painting, trim, doors, and hardware - Flooring, tile, caulking, and grout - Kitchen and bathroom repairs - Home maintenance and preventive maintenance - Understanding home inspection findings and repair priorities - Planning DIY projects, choosing materials, and figuring out what tools you'll need Not sure what's wrong? That's okay! Show me what you're dealing with, and we'll work through it together. I'll help you identify what you can safely handle yourself and what should be left to a licensed professional.

Frequently asked questions

Smart glasses (Ray-Ban Meta, for example) are a real bonus: the expert sees exactly what you see, and both your hands stay free to work. If you don’t have smart glasses, you point the camera of your phone at the problem and it works fine too, the expert sees it live and walks you through it. But once you’ve held a phone in one hand while loosening a bolt with the other, you’ll understand why most of our regulars end up buying the glasses.
